Basic/Foundational Training Consultation
EMDR Therapy consultation is provided to therapists who have started the foundational training with Amber Stiles-Bodnar Consulting.
You finished Part 1 or Part 2… and now what?
If you’re anything like most therapists coming fresh out of EMDR Basic Training, you might be feeling:
“I can’t get my client to 0.” You’re following the steps, but your clients keep stalling out.
Mind blown after Part 1. You left training excited but also overwhelmed by how much there is to remember.
“What’s an interweave again?” The terms made sense in the moment, but applying them in real life feels like another story.
Virtual EMDR feels overwhelming. Doing this work online brings extra layers of logistics and uncertainty.
You’ve invested a lot of money into this training, but when a client asks, “What is EMDR?” you freeze.
You want a space where you won’t be judged for asking the so-called “stupid questions.”
What is EMDR Therapy Training?
Discovered by Dr. Francine Shapiro, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is one of the most researched and utilized methods in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the many ways trauma and adverse life experiences show up in people’s lives.
Whether your goal is to specialize in EMDR or weave it into your existing practice, our mindfulness-infused training program equips you to work with real-world clinical presentations from day one. This includes handling complex, developmental trauma, addressing dissociation, and integrating EMDR into the settings you already work in.
Completing EMDRIA-approved foundational training is a multi-step process:
Part I Training (3 days, 21 hours): Covers the basics — trauma, the Adaptive Information Processing model, trauma-informed stabilization, and the fundamental methodology of EMDR Therapy. After Part I, you’ll be able to start practicing EMDR with certain clients.
Part II Training (3 days, 21 hours): Builds on Part I, covering best practices with special populations, advanced concepts in ethics, neurobiology, and case conceptualization.
10 Hours of Consultation: Skill-building through individual or group consultation. Recommended: 4–6 hours after Part I, and the rest after Part II. All consultation hours can be completed virtually. Completion of training and consultation hours are required before a Certificate of Training in EMDR Therapy can be awarded.
In consultation with me, you’ll get:
A safe, collaborative space to slow down and really understand the steps.
Practical strategies you can actually use in session — not just theory.
Confidence explaining EMDR to clients (without sounding like you’re reading from the manual).
Support in getting unstuck when you hit those common roadblocks.
Permission to ask every question — even the ones you think you “should already know.”
Trainings I’m a Part Of
I’m proud to serve as a co-facilitator with Amber Stiles-Bodnar Consulting (material Institute for Creative Mindfulness), collaborating with Amber Stiles-Bodnar and her EMDRIA-approved training programs.
These trainings combine clinical rigor with a grounded, practical style, infused with mindfulness and community connection. That balance is exactly why I was drawn to Amber’s teaching — and why I’m honored to be part of her training team.

No. You can begin consultation after completing Part I, and in fact it’s recommended that you complete at least 4–6 hours of consultation before attending Part II.
-
Most of my consultation sessions are held virtually (via Zoom), which makes it easier for clinicians to join from anywhere. Occasionally, I also offer hybrid options.
-
Group consultation offers the added benefit of learning from your peers’ cases, questions, and insights — and it’s often more affordable. Individual consultation allows us to focus solely on your cases and professional growth. Depending on your learning style, you may want to do a mixture of both.
-
That’s more common than you think! Many therapists leave training feeling like they “should know more” than they do. My consultation spaces are intentionally judgment-free, and the whole point for mixed level consultation is to give you a place to review, slow down, listen to others and practice until things feel more natural.

Not at all. While I love supporting clinicians right after training, I also consult with therapists pursuing EMDRIA certification or who simply want more confidence and clarity using EMDR with complex cases along with those seeking Consultant Status.
